A note from Elisha to the Student Body

Hi everyone! My name is Elisha Ewing and I am so excited to be the Western Student Association’s Head of Committee’s this year! If you’ve been around the WSA for a while, you know that I am no stranger to it. I joined the WSA because I am passionate about advocating for students and helping everyone be a part of creating the student life they want to see. I have watched this organization transform into one that is accessible, inclusive, and sustainable. Currently, I have 3 years of experience with the WSA under my belt, first as Senator for the Lee Honors College, then as Vice President for Student Affairs, and finally, as Chief of Staff last year. This long history in our fantastic organization has prepared me to take on the task of building our committee structure into one that is impactful, meaningful, and empowers students to create the change they want to see on campus.

This year, the focus of the Western Student Association is on advocacy, communication, and engagement. In partnering with the rest of Assembly leadership to create this position, I am committed to focusing on:

-Establishing the structure and purpose of each committee in a way that is focused on advocating for student needs and perspectives.

-Creating communication channels that are effective, convenient, and consistent to inform students of the opportunities and resources available to them.

-Spending time engaging with students to ensure the work of each committee is meaningful and representative of the student body’s needs.

I am so excited to be creating this role with a fantastic team around me and I look forward to working with you as we aim to reach the student body and create positive change!

Please reach out to me with any comments, questions, or ideas! I would love to hear from you!

Onward for the Brown and Gold,
Elisha Ewing
